“Litos” Engine© is a directx7 3D game engine that is evolving to be a complete and reliable game development environment for the PC win32(windows) platform.
“Litos” Engine© brings developers, advertising companies, passionates the most exciting and important directx7 layer capabilities features and performs great on nVidia Geforce® and ATI Radeon® videocards on both AMD® and Intel® processors.
The project started in November 2001, and since that time, the engine evolved rapidly, and the new features were implemented time by time.

The engine is currently on a revision-stage. Our objective is to take advantage of a wrapper library major update, which will bring in new features like weighted skeletal vertex animations and Dot3 bumpmapping. Litos Engine was thought and designed to furnish budget game developers a solid but not expensive game development environment.

“Litos” Engine© key features

  • Animation: Rigid bones animation. Hierarchy animations.
  • Textures: Multitexturing as well as multiple UV sets, allowing perfect environment lightmapping, animated textures and shaders.
  • Shadows: Blob Shadows as well as rendered shadows(non stencil)
  • Particle System: Single Surface particle system
  • AI/Entity system: AI use a custom path node system, each map can have different enemy tracks/loops and customizable entities / zones.
  • Gameplaye: Any kind of gameplay, AI, or camera views are supported, whenever your target game would be an FPS shooter, a 3rd person adventure, or a platform arcade, Litos engine can fit your needs. A scripting language is on design stage, allowing an optimal engine customization.
  • Sound: 16 channels, Hardware 3D sound support
  • Music: Standard .OGG Vorbis compressed format (Optional due to license fee, mp3 intelligent music finder/player)
  • International/Localization: The Engine is multilanguage. You can have up to 8 language supported in the same game package and you can even play the game in different languages with a simple mouse click.
    As much languages are needed as much can be supported/added.

Game Engine is interally being created thanks to Blitz3D, the best / faster DirectX basic wrapper under windows, compiled with BCC(Blitz Commandline Compiler) v.185 and written with UltraEdit 10.

Third party tools to be used with Litos©

Ultimate Unwrap 3D is a UVmapping and general model editing tool, it can convert a huge list of 3D models format, and is suitable for Game Modding and of course, for Litos©.
The GIMP is a program for image manipulation. It is a freely distributed great piece of software, suitable for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It is released under the GNU General Public License (GPL).

Phosphore, a state of the art map and game editor

A Great world builder/map editor, lightmap and vis compiler, game editor. Features: lightmaps and rich .b3d format compiler, world builder, path nodes editor, scene editor.
